    Hello,

"Link building is a strategy that that gets web pages to link to each other by acquiring hyperlinks from other websites and apply them to your own site. It helps users navigate between different pages on the Internet. They also help search engines crawl between the pages on your website. There are different ways to build links. But, if you can master at least one of them, it can catapult you ahead of your competition. In the United States, the interest for link building has grown 43 percent since 2005."

Link building, simply put, is the process of getting other websites to link back to your website. All marketers and business owners should be interested in building links to drive referral traffic and increase their site’s authority.

Why build links? Google’s algorithms are complex and always evolving, but backlinks remain an important factor in how every search engine determines which sites rank for which keywords. Building links is one of the many tactics used in search engine optimization (SEO) because links are a signal to Google that your site is a quality resource worthy of citation. Therefore, sites with more backlinks tend to earn higher rankings.

    What is Link Building?
Link building is simply the process of building hyperlinks from other websites back to your own. Search engines crawl the links between the individual pages on your website and the links between entire websites to determine what counts as a good link.

A link to your site sends a signal to Google that your website is a quality resource on the subject, worthy of a citation. Sites with more backlinks tend to earn higher rankings from Google. SEOs often refer to this as “link juice”.

There are many types of link building techniques you can use, and while they all vary in difficulty and complexity, link building is one of the time-consuming parts of an SEO’s job. And not all links are created equal. For example, a link from the Guardian will be of a lot more value to you than one from an unknown travel blogger’s website.

Why is Link Building Important for SEO?
Link building is an important part of SEO services because it helps search engines discover new web pages, and determines which pages should rank higher in the SERPs.

    Google says of link building:

“In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by creating high-quality sites that users will want to use and share.”

Meaning that when using link building strategies, your focus should be on earning links because you’ve created great content that your users want to share – not just link building for search engines.

Link building is one of the most important ranking factors for Google, alongside:

    On-page SEO and content optimisation
Trust and authority of the website
    Site loading speed
    Mobile-friendliness
    User experience elements

    Hello,

"Also known as “inbound” or “incoming” links, backlinks are created when one website links to another website. For example, if a mountain climbing site (Website A) links to a blog post comparing the best hiking gear (Website B), the hiking gear website receives a vote of confidence – or backlink – from the mountain climbing site.

    importance of backlinking
    Why Are Backlinks Important?
Backlinks are important for SEO because they signal to Google that another resource finds your content valuable enough to link to it within their own content. As a website earns additional backlinks, search engines infer that the website possesses valuable content worth ranking well on the SERPs.

    How Are Backlinks Earned?
Gaining backlinks is an essential component to off-site SEO strategy. In fact, backlinks are the most significant off-site ranking factor! Backlinks are earned in three primary ways.

Natural links are given without any action on the part of the website owner. For example, the mountain climbing illustration above would involve a natural link if the hiking gear website had no role in receiving that link. One of the best ways to organically obtain natural links is by consistently creating high-quality content.
Manual links are acquired through link earning activities. If the hiking gear website reached out to the climbing resource and requested a link, the backlink would be manual. Guest blogging for a relevant website is another strategic method to gaining a manual link. Be sure to link to your website within the content.
Self-created links are created when a site manager manually adds a backlink into a forum, blog comment, or online directory. Be careful – while self-created links may appear to be the easiest way to gain backlinks, many of the tactics tend toward “black hat SEO,” strategies that negatively impact search engine reputation. These links are typically labeled by “no follow” tags.
    Are All Backlinks Valuable?
While backlinks are generally desirable, not all backlinks are as valuable as others. Some are inherently more advantageous to earn – others should be avoided whenever possible. Understanding the influencers of backlink value is crucial for link building and evaluating the health of your backlink profile.

    backlink strategy
    1. Follow vs. no follow backlinks
Site owners can specify if an individual link passes link equity or not. A no follow link does not pass link equity – colloquially called “link juice” – to the linking domain, while a follow link does. While followed backlinks are much more desirable, no follow links from high-quality websites can still be beneficial to enhance your brand.

(Interestingly, local SEO strategy views follow and no follow links from relevant, localized websites as equally valuable.)

    2. Authority of linking domain
Backlinks obtained from linking domains of high authority usually offer more value (link equity) than links from low-quality, new, or spammy websites. Backlinks from spammy websites should be avoided whenever possible.

    3. Link relevancy
Google knows if a backlink is irrelevant. If a gluten-free bakery in California links to your brick-and-mortar hiking gear shop in Colorado, the backlink is not extremely relevant and will likely not pass as much link juice as the backlink received from the mountain climbing site.

    4. Link location
Website architecture is significant to Google, as is the positioning of a link on the page. For example, a backlink tucked in the footer of a page may not pass as much equity as one added in a relevant blog post paragraph.

    5. Link number
A backlink listed among hundreds or thousands of links on a single page is likely not as valuable as a link referenced among fewer. Beyond link equity, a user would be hard-pressed to locate your link among the hundreds and click through to your content, eliminating value.

    6. Anchor text
Anchor text is the visible characters or words that display a hyperlink within content, often underlined and uniquely colored. In the previous sentence, “anchor text” is the anchor text for an outbound link. Certain anchor text is deemed SEO-friendly, passing more equity than others. Succinct, relevant, and non-generic text is preferable.

For example, linking to this blog post with the anchor “importance of backlinks for SEO” is preferable to linking with the generic text “click here.”

Link building is a search engine optimization technique that increases your search engine ranking. Links are one of the primary ways that search engine algorithms determine the relevance of a page. Having a good number of links to a website indicates that the content is there is valuable. External and internal linking both provide more visibility for your website. In addition, linking helps Google and other search engines crawl your site.

What matters when it comes to link building?
The factors that determine how beneficial a specific link is to your ranking include:

Global popularity: Popular sites receive more external links. Wikipedia ends up at the top of search pages for many subjects because so many websites link to it.
Local popularity: Local popularity refers to inbound links that come from similar sites. For instance, if you have a shoe store, and a popular shoe blog links to it, search engines will pay more attention than if the link came from an unrelated website.
Anchor text: When someone links to your shoe store using "shoe store" as the anchor text, this sends a signal to search engines that your website is a good resource for shoes. But if the anchor text that brings visitors to a page uses the same keywords too frequently, search engines may start to suspect spammy tactics.
Link context: Links are more valuable when the context is directly related to the topic your website. The transition from the current page to the one being linked should be relatively seamless.
Where the link comes from: Links from authoritative websites carry more weight than links from less-reputable sites. For instance, a link that comes from Google's official blog will be more authoritative than one that comes from a personal blog on WordPress. Search engines have methods to sort through spam and irrelevant content, and Google has a ranking system that grades individual Web pages based on their reputability.
    How does link building work?
There are essentially two ways to develop links to your website: internal and external. External links are harder to obtain because they come from other websites. Starting with internal linking is easy because it's completely up to you. All it takes is a little time and careful planning to increase your use of internal links and boost SEO for your business.

Deep linking refers to the process of linking to pages other than just your homepage or contact page. Every page on your website should be reachable from at least one text link (1). Increase your internal links by linking to relevant blog posts and product pages, rather than just directing visitors to your homepage.

Maintaining a blog helps increase internal links by providing more opportunities for you to link back to specific products or other internal pages. Don't forget to link from social media platforms as well.

To gain external links, the best strategy is to create excellent site content. You can also reach out to bloggers and other influencers to ask if you can guest blog on their sites. Never resort to black hat SEO tricks, like paying for links (2). These backfire because the links come from spammy websites.

Link building is the process of increasing the number and quality of inbound links to a webpage. Search engines consider backlinks as recommendations to your site, and the more people to recommend your site through external links, the more trustworthy they think your site is. For that reason, search engines like Google base how well your site ranks off of the number of links to your website.

Kenny Trinh, the CEO of Netbooknews, has a ton of experience with link building and believes it is imperative to the success of your website. “Essentially, backlinks act as a vote of trust. The more high-quality backlinks your website has, the more likely it will earn higher rankings.”

Link building is one of the most important factors when it comes to the success and growth of your website. Unfortunately, link building is not as straight-forward as “the more links, the higher you rank” and that is why SEO specialists say that link building is the hardest skill to master. Search engines, like Google, have access to such advanced technology that they are able to take various factors into consideration when ranking sites. Some of these additional factors include the quality of the website it is posted on and the relevance between the two sites. Simply put, your link needs to seem like it belongs there. You don’t want to slap your link on any old website or in the middle of an irrelevant article.

We spoke with Swati Chalumuri the founder of Hear Me Folks on what all she takes into consideration when building links. She told us that “you need to keep some things in mind: the link should come from a valuable website, a website in your niche, and must be included in an article covering a topic similar to your website’s.” These are her key steps to having his website rank well in 2021.

Not only do backlinks factor into how well you rank on a search engine, but they are also used to discover new web pages. Google and other search engines “crawl” websites in order to discover different web pages so having your backlinks out there can help them come across your site more often. Despite Google’s complex and ever-changing algorithm, one thing that never changed is the importance of backlinks. That is why link building remains the key to success in SEO. Boosting your website’s credibility through the number of links to your site can be the difference between having your site rank on the first page of a search engine or getting lost in the mix.

Link building helps with seo on page and off page. Links from other sites are off page and you can use links to help search engine rank for terms or keywords you use in the links.

You can also do the same on site and even link form pages to the pages you want better results in search engines for.

In layman's terms, link building allows users to navigate in between articles for a better understanding of certain terms.

However, the meaning differs from one to another.

For Search Engine crawlers, links allow them to recognize authority and recognition being passed from one website to another.

And hence, for SEO executives, link building means getting Search engine bots to accept that their website's link has been referred to by other authoritative sites.

Pro Tip: Quality is better than quantity. Try getting links from quality websites rather than from many websites with less than average authority.
