a TLD is everything that follows the final dot of a domain name. For example, in the domain name 'google .com', '.com' is the TLD.

The domain extension, commonly referred to as the Top-Level Domain (TLD), generally isn't considered a Google ranking factor, except in the area of International SEO

A top-level domain (TLD), also referred to as a domain extension, is the suffix that follows the domain name in a web address; the most widely-used is ".com". TLDs are managed by the Domain Name System of the Internet, which controls how domain names are translated into Internet Protocol, or IP, addresses.

Top-level domain (TLD) refers to the last segment of a domain name, or the part that follows immediately after the "dot" symbol.

For example, in the internet address: https://www.google.com, the “.com” portion is the TLD.

TLDs are mainly classified into two categories: generic TLDs and country-specific TLDs.

Examples of some of the popular TLDs include:

    .com

    .org

    .net

    .gov

    .biz

    .edu.
