What are Outbound Links? Outbound links are links that point from your website to another. They are often used within content to add more context and to link a reader to another source that will add additional and important information to the topic at hand.

An outbound link is actually pretty easy to understand. It’s simply a link on your website to another website. It’s also called an external link. Rather than linking to something on your own website—an internal link or an inbound link—you send someone away from your website.

There are two kinds of outbound links. These are nofollow and dofollow links:

The dofollow link is a normal link. This type of link is a default link. It is not necessary to add to the code or to change anything. Just insert a link into your website and it’s automatically a dofollow link. A dofollow link is what every link should be like. The is because it passes on Google’s PageRank juice from your webpage to a targeted webpage.
A nofollow link is an abnormal link. It does not pass on any of Google’s PageRank juice to the targeted webpage but, instead, it blocks off the Google PageRank flow. A nofollow link has a rel=”nofollow” tag inside the code. This tag tells the Google spider ‘not to follow’ the link.

An outbound link is a hyperlink from one page on the web to another page. Outbound links are also called external links, because they point to pages outside of the website where the link is placed. Inbound links, by contrast, are links from other websites that point to the page where the link is placed.

If you use out bound links that are no follow they do not give page rank. Make sure out bound links are related to your website and use them to add more information about the topic on that page of your website or blog post.
