Google says that the Bounce rate relates to the percentage of single-engagement visits to your site. Google Analytics tracks the number of people who visit your page and leave without viewing other pages on your site. Bounce rate does not necessarily mean you need to improve the quality of your site.

Bounce rate is the percent of people who go to your site and leave in a short time. You want people to stay on your site for a while. Make your website or blog easy to use and have good quality content people want to read.

Make sure your site does not have millions of ads and does not load slow so people do not just leave because they are tired of how slow the site is loading.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-engagement visits to your site. That means, what Google Analytics is actually tracking is the number of visitors who come to your page and leave without viewing any other page on your website or engaging with your page in any meaningful way

As a few fellow people mentioned already, your bounce rate is when someone visits that particular page and then leaves. This is not always bad because they couldn't leave to do something else. For example, contacting you, using your elsewhere ordering system, etc.

Bounce rate is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave ("bounce") rather than continuing to view other pages within the same site. A bounce rate of 56% to 70% is on the high side, although there could be a good reason for this, and 41% to 55% would be considered an average bounce rate. An optimal bounce rate would be in the 26% to 40% range.
