    What is spider in SEO?

In SEO, a spider (or web crawler) is a bot used by search engines to systematically browse the web, indexing content to make it searchable. These spiders help determine the relevance and ranking of web pages in search engine results.

Remember your robots.txt file can control what they crawl and do not crawl. Often if you do not have one of these setup in your /root you might be having pages crawled you do not want.

A spider, also known as a web crawler, is like a little robot that search engines use to explore the internet. It hops around different websites, following links and gathering information about their content. This helps search engines know what each page is about so they can show the most relevant results when you search for something. Think of it as a friendly guide that helps search engines navigate the web!

A search engine spider is a software crawler that is also referred to as a search engine bot or simply a bot. Search engine spiders indicate data marketers, HTML, broken links, orphan pages, important key terms that indicate a page's topics, traffic coming to the site or individual pages and more.

In SEO, a spider (also called a web crawler or bot) is a tool used by search engines like Google to explore and scan websites. Think of it as a virtual robot that “crawls” through web pages to gather information about their content.

Spiders start by visiting one page and then follow links to other pages, collecting data like text, images, keywords, and links along the way. This information is then stored in the search engine’s database, called an index, so the pages can appear in search results when someone searches for related keywords.

Spiders also check how well a site is structured and whether it’s easy to navigate. That’s why having clear links, optimized content, and fast-loading pages helps improve rankings.

In short, spiders are like digital librarians that organize web pages, making them searchable for users online!
