    If you use an e-commerce site in the UK, how safe are your personal details? Not as safe as you might think, according to SecureTest, a security consultancy that specialises in "ethical hacking". After testing 100 UK websites, it has accused the UK e-commerce community of fundamental flaws in the way it handles customers' details.

    Hello Members,
    If you are visiting a genuine companies online website, then it is safe otherwise it is not safe. Always hire a best e- shopping sites which are known by people. Online shopping or online retailing is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet using a web browser. Alternative names are: e-web-store, e-shop, e-store, Internet shop, web-shop, web-store, online store, and virtual store. An online shop evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or shopping center; the process is called business-to-consumer (B2C) online shopping. In the case where a business buys from another business, the process is called business-to-business (B2B) online shopping. The largest of these online retailing corporations are eBay and Amazon.com, both based in the United States. Retail success is no longer all about physical stores, this is evident because of the increase in retailers now offering online store interfaces for consumers. With the growth of online shopping, comes a wealth of new market footprint coverage opportunities for stores that can appropriately cater to offshore market demands and service requirements.

    Thanks a Lot

    To my opinion e-shopping security is based on platform it is built on. For eg Magento and open cart is highly secure, Joomla is occasionally vulnerable to attacks and Magento is highly secured and hardly vulnerable to attacks. According to me, to share our credit card information the site should be trust worthy else we wont. But sites built on Magento has some security measures like: Managing password and names, Secured FTP, Customize URL in control panel access, constant updates and so on. If you want to know more details about it. Click here

    I think the safety of online shopping is determined by the website from which you plan to store from. If the website is trust worthy, online shopping is a excellent process of shopping as the items get availed to us at a less expensive rate than available at markets around us.

    Online shopping at reputable sites is far more safer than handing over your card to someone you don't know, or using your card in a machine that could potentially have been compromised.

    Online shopping is great. It’s fast, less time-consuming, offers a huge selection and usually even better prices, however there’s major threats out there that buyers are usually not aware of.

    Fake stores. There are huge amount of fake stores that lure internet users with their overwhelmingly low prices.
    Not only they will not send you the product you will pay for, they might as well steal and sell your Credit Card’s info to the 3rd parties.
    To prevent from being a fake store victim:

    Make sure the link of the shop you are at is always https and not http;

    Do not enter your CC details if you are unsure about the legitimacy of the shop;

    Google the reviews. You will either find that it’s a scam site or a legitimate one.

    Malware. Viruses like key-loggers track every click you make on your computer, thus capturing your CC details is as easy as taking a lollipop from a child.

    To prevent from being a malware victim:

    Do not go to shady sites. Don’t click on random banners that promise you free iPhones and all. Use an Adblock software like uBlock. Do not click on any link without being 100% sure about it’s source;

    Use protection! No, seriously. Your parents might have told you that a hundred times, but they’re right. Get an anti-virus software and a VPN. You might think you don’t need one if you got the common-sense, but times are advancing and so is malware.
