I think that you should look at Wikipedia and search their for information about both hosting solutions and then make a comparison of the advantages you will have using this or that solution.

    Dear friend,
The difference between vps and dedicated is that with dedicated you are the only person with files on the server. VPS is a virtualization environment where everyone gets root access inside a virtual machine, but there are multiple people with these VMs on one given physical server. If you are comfortable managing your sites in a VPS as root, then it won't be any more difficult to manage them on a dedicated server

Each Dedicated Server runs on separate hardware set-ups while multiple VPS’ can run on a single hardware set-up

VPS utilizes Virtualization so that it appears like a dedicated server in most aspects

VPS would cost much less than a Dedicated Server

VPS is a lot more complex compared to a Dedicated Server

Servers on a VPS might be brought down because of a problem on another server, this doesn’t happen with dedicated servers

A dedicated server means you have an actual machine, an actual server to do what ever you want on. All of the hardware, software is yours to use. A VPS or Virtual Private Server is a section of a dedicated server using software. So, hosting companies take a dedicated server and by using software they split that server into lets say eight VPS servers. Each server acts on its own(depending on what software is used) so it's like it's own server but it's on shared hardware(cpu, memory, hd)

I believe that web hosting solution choice mainly depends on your specific needs.

What are you going to host?

Think the rule is simple - need more - go dedicated. Need less, choose VPS. Quality solutions of

both types are given at monhosteur.com, which I recommend to consider as soon as you got to know

    what you need.

    Not alot:
Dedicated Server: you get 100% of the server
VPS: your get part or the server...

VPS Web server is definitely mostly managed by your hosting company, with very little for you think about, dedicated is hard manage, well seeing VPS is cheaper and efficient instead of getting the whole dedi.

    VPS vs Dedicated Server Hosting?

They are hard to compare because it really depends on what your needs are and who your providers are. If you are using a non-oversold VPS by a high quality host then you shouldn't really notice any differences to a low end dedicated box

Thinking about choosing between dedicated server or VPS server?
    It is simple decision.
Dedicated servers priced similarly to VPS packages are slower, less flexible, less reliable and simply wrong choice.
When you buy VPS you get dedicated server grade ECC RAM, Raid 10 HDD space, ability to revert to snapshot, make backup of whole system image, latest Quad Core Xeon Nehalem 56xx processor speed, RAID controller with its own memory, and lot more. However, be aware that this is not the case with all Windows VPS providers. VpsWebServer.com is completely different, and you can even run benchmarks and see that dedicated servers with similar speed are 3-6 times more expensive, and you also lose all the flexibility VPS hosting offers.

Generally webmasters will choose dedicated hosting or cloud VPS due to the features and services offered which allows them to expand and grow their websites in a high performing environment. Most experts recommend basic VPS hosting for novice users. Your choice will depend on your business goals and your current and future hosting needs.

VPS hosting is known to be very reliable and flexible, particularly with the cloud hosting environment. As well, cloud VPS hosting plans utilize an entire network of servers simultaneously so there is almost an unlimited amount of server resources available. Cloud VPS hosting is also a very powerful hosting method and it is the most expandable type of hosting currently available.

Dedicated hosting is more reliable and flexible. With dedicated hosting, web pages are loaded much faster and there is minimal downtime. As well, security is very efficient when using dedicated hosting. You can even get plans with server monitoring that includes security monitoring 24/7/365.

    VPS vs Dedicated Server Hosting

-There is no big difference between VPS and dedicated (there should not be).The thing with the VPS is that you have part of the server resources for your needs and with the dedicated it is not obligatory as these resources may vary depending on the server type, its configuration and the other users installed currently.
-A VPS in a virtual server within a server. A semidedicated is a special case of shared hosting.
