Post Some history of Ecommerce Growth.

    Hi !

Sometime ago, I read some Ecommerce Books and I find how Ecommerce grow up. so that I would like share some information about some history of Ecommerce Growth.

Since its creation, e-commerce has experienced steady growth with an increasing rate of growth
in the first decade of the 21st century. Survey after survey conducted by a variety of companies has indicated an accelerating volume of transactions in business-to-consumer (B2C) and particularly in business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce. In 20032005, more than 70% of companies in the United States have experimented with purchasing online; and around 1520% of their total spending was being channeled via the Internet.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, B2B e-commerce covers more than 20% of all business transactions in the U.S.A. Although B2B sales continue to dwarf B2C sales, many retailers now see online sales as their best opportunity for new growth. The estimates made by different consulting firms show that by the end of 2012, the sales through e-commerce will be between 210 and 340 billion dollars The average growth of retail e-commerce is estimated to be from 12% to 14% annually. In addition, the proportion of retail e-commerce in the total U.S. retail sales is predicted to grow from approximately 4% in 2006 to 13% in 2010.

The implementation of e-commerce also varies across the globe. The highest level of e-commerce sales as a proportion of the total sales is in Australia, South Korea, and France with more than 16% of the total sales in 2004, United States more than 13%, and Japan around 9%.

The projected e-commerce growth raises the interest of researchers to understand how effective
and efficient this e-commerce implementation has been, and what influences e-commerce results in manufacturing and service organizations. Despite the evident increase in importance of e-commerce and effectiveness of its implementation, until recently little research has been undertaken to investigate factors that influence the results of e-commerce solutions. This knowledge not only has potential benefits for organizations considering e-commerce implementation but also for those organizations that have already engaged in such implementations, because it can provide them with an understanding of how to facilitate and improve their implementation processes.

Growth of ecommerce also depends on the way paradigm of people gets shifted on buying stuff online. Decades ago, it was quite difficult to manage a large database of products and other tasks related to inventory management, now due to technology the way commerce website was being displayed, it is easier to do the tasks.
