Uptime means the time when your website is accessible over Internet. Hosting providers do offer guaranteed uptimes and compensate if they are unable to offer the uptime committed before.

Uptime is the percentage of time that a web site is working. For example, if some host has an uptime average of 99.86%, this means that your site will be down for a total about 1 hour each month. There are agencies that monitor uptimes of customer websites and many web hosts and display this data on that web host's detail page. Some hosts also offer "uptime guarantees" but this is not as valuable as it might appear.

There are also applications that can be integrated into your website to monitor your uptime (your web hosts uptime) and accuracy. This will determine whether they are guaranteeing what they are stating to their clients.

The total period for which a website is live on the internet and accessible to all the browsers can be said to be uptime for the website. A uptime of 99.95% can be considered to be a reasonable uptime and you as a client can host with such hosting providers. Hosting packages like a cloud server or a dedicated server generally offer a 100% uptime.

Hosting uptime refers to the amount of time the server is up online and running. This is an important aspect, as when you have a website you want it available to your online visitors at all times. Please note, that there is no 100% guaranteed uptime and no web hosting company or server can claim to have such performance.

When you choose web hosting you need to know how they grade their hosting services performance with how many uptime guarantee.

It is a stage where which your computer is operational. Hosting companies make a big deal about uptime guarantees. But they rarely compensate customers if they break them. But still we have some hosting companies like GoDaddy, IX web hosting, HostGator, BlueHost etc. are doing pretty well, in terms of providing uptime.

Uptime is a measure of the time a machine, typically a computer, has been working and available. Uptime is the opposite of downtime.

Htop adds an exclamation mark when uptime is bigger than 100 days
It is often used as a measure of computer operating system reliability or stability, in that this time represents the time a computer can be left unattended without crashing, or needing to be rebooted for administrative or maintenance purposes.

Conversely, long uptime may indicate negligence, because some critical updates can require reboots on some platforms

Uptime is the amount of time that a server has stayed up and running. This is usually listed as a percentage, like "99.9% uptime." Uptime is a great measure of how good a Web hosting provider is at keeping their systems up and running. If a hosting provider has a high uptime percentage, then that means that their servers stay up and running and so any site you host with them should stay up and running too.

The amount of time that a machine has been running and accessible in a stable manner is referred to as uptime. It's a measure of the operating system and computes infrastructure's stability and dependability. A machine with a high uptime would also have a low downtime and vice versa.
