A static website is a simple website which we can create with the help of HTML only such as simple website which display different services.

A dynamic website is created by doing complex coding with different languages such as PHP, ASP, JAVA etc.…, In dynamic websites required database integration for interaction with users, dynamic websites are fully functional website such as online commerce websites.

In static website there is a physical file of pages stored at server where in dynamic website pages are being generated dynamically from database with fixed pattern. Static websites are useful to deliver information. It is created by small company. All the information is given statically. You cannot do any changes like add, edit and delete in the website online. The advantages are it is fast and easy to create. The cost is also law for hosting and developing.

On the other hand in the Dynamic websites you can easily do the changes in website online. It is created by big industries to manage the products. The advantages are like you can update the new things and attract new people, it will help to increase the traffic. Updating in the website is easier than static website.

Static websites can updated by someone who have knowledge of website development. Static websites are the cheapest to develop and many small companies use these to get a web presence.

Dynamic sites are more expensive to develop but the advantages are numerous. At a basic level, a dynamic website can give the website owner the ability to simply update and add new content to the site.like news and events could be posted on the site through a simple browser interface.

I think the static site is more batter than dynamic one. In dynamic website, the all load comes on only one database and with static site, the load is divided in all pages individually.
    The game is over.

When the Customer asked us to create a simple 3 to 5 page website means, we can go for static one. If Customer wants more than 10 to 20 pages means, better we can go for dynamic one.

In static website all the contents of the webpages are placed manually by web developers whereas in dynamic website is totally opposite of state website. In dynamic the website is constructed on the fly when a page is requested by web browser.Generally, dynamic websites are very good to get potential customers for your business.

Static sites are useful for organizations where their page remains static throughout the year while Dynamic sites is essential for ecommerce and similar other sites where there is always change in the page.

According to my knowledge the main different is static site is one that is written in plain HTML and what is in the code of the page is what is displayed to the user. A dynamic site is one that is written using a server-side scripting language such as PHP, ASP, JSP.
