Colocation or colocation hosting is a highly secure data centre facility where equipment, servers, space, and bandwidth are available for purchase to businesses. Colocation is a data centre facility that companies can buy space in to host their servers and experience higher security and guaranteed uptime. Most companies are not in the business of owning and operating data centres, so they use a colocation facility to put their company’s critical infrastructure.

Colocation is a service that consists of a provider placing the client's equipment on its territory, connecting it to electricity, providing maintenance and connection to communication channels with high bandwidth.

Yeah it`s great, colocation facilities provide space, power, cooling, and physical security for the servers, storages. Some companies, which have got gigabytes of data, need it very much. My brother would love to work there, I know there can be good salaries, I support him, he is currently an electrician but also he studied IT, he is looking for some appropriate job and stumbled upon on some vacancy from Datacenter but the requirements were too high, he does not have a lot of the relevant experience, he works now here https://bates-electric.com/locations/chicago-il/ as an electrician at the moment, but still have a dream about the IT field or so, wish him his dreams come true

Colocation is the practice of housing privately-owned servers and networking equipment in a third-party data center.

Frankly, an Internet connection will cost the customer much cheaper than if he did it all himself. In most cases, this allows you to save several times more than the client would spend on independent actions. For example, suppose you need to connect the Internet from a provider that does not provide collocated hosting services. In that case, you can purchase the necessary equipment and secure yourself. At the same time, in the case of cloud technologies, for example, a data center or a cloud, the responsibility for the security and continuity of the service lies with the supplier. While the provider is responsible for providing the service in full and on time.

It is a data center facility in which a business can rent space for servers and other computing hardware.
