Not sure what you mean here . . cost over performance could be a VPS solution instead of a dedicated.Originally posted by raustin

Or it coule be a cheap $80 month server with high bandwidth and decent hard drive - but running on a raq server with celeron processor and 256mb ram
wisehosting.co.uk . . hassle free server and VPS Solutions
I'm looking for direct or indirect experience with a dedicated host, including price, performance, capabilities, storage, support, etc...

I only have experience with EV1. Most of their new offerings offer dual 80GB drives, decent amt of RAM, and I believe even their value series comes with 1300 GB of bandwidth per month. I have been with them for a couple years and a run a couple of P4 servers. The network has always performed excellent, and support has always been top notch when I have needed it. My 2 cents anyway.
If I were to choose a different provider it would probably be ServerMatrix. They seem to have the best reviews next to EV1.

I think LiquidWeb is an excellent value for dedicated servers. Their service and support is about the best that I have seen.

2 servers, plus SAN backup space runs me right around $300/monthWhat do you pay?
Total bandwidth for both servers combined is almost 3 TB /month
I run daily backups of my premium customers to the SAN drives, and internal backup drive.
Regular customers get backups run to internal drives only.

Hi,
with servers there is no fun, I assume you want to use the servers in hosting reselling .. if so then avoid EV1, they will disconnect the server or cancel it if some one of your users tried to spam, ofcourse no one support spam, but you may got one by chance and that never means to be out of business.
avoid servermatrix, they growed fast in the way they can handle support (even paid support) correctly, may have some bad hardware!!
my favorites:
voxrox.com for unmanged servers, they use HP genuine servers and voxel DC so server speed is amazing, but really they are not managed, getting support will cost $$
Liquidweb.com for managed, and excellent support, but price, they are above average price + they start charge setup fees lately.
Interserver.net, I used them for more than 3 years, they are overall 9.5/10, price is very good, managed servers, support some time is very good, some time not that at all ... but still I'm using them heavly
We too offer dedicated servers,
