Deep linking is a part of search engines that many visitors appreciate because it makes discovering what they are looking for easier. is making a hyperlink that points to a specific page or image on a website, instead of that website's main or home page.

A deep link is a term used to describe a link pointing to any section of a web page that is not the home page. For example, if someone linked to this definition instead of the Computer Hope main page, that would be considered a deep link.

Links that go directly to a product will please the user and enhance usability. There are many shopping portals on the Internet and many of these have basic links to a merchant’s homepage. Generic links do not meet the user’s goals. Do you really want to send your users to a page where they have to click 4 or 5 times to get to the product or information? You need to add value to your site and deep linking is a great way to do this.

In the context of the World Wide Web, deep linking is the use of a hyperlink that links to a specific, generally searchable or indexed, piece of web content on a website, rather than the website's home page. The URL contains all the information needed to point to a particular item.
