Meta robots tag is a tag that tells search engines what to follow and what not to follow. It is a piece of code in the <head> section of your webpage. It's a simple code that gives you the power to decide about what pages you want to hide from search engine crawlers and what pages you want them to index and look at.

Robots.txt is a file that tells search engine spiders to not crawl certain pages or sections of a website. Most major search engines (including Google, Bing and Yahoo) recognize and honor Robots.txt requests.

The robots. txt file, also known as the robots exclusion protocol or standard, is a text file that tells web robots (most often search engines) which pages on your site to crawl. It also tells web robots which pages not to crawl. Let's say a search engine is about to visit a site.

A robots.txt file is a directive that tells search engine robots or crawlers how to proceed through a site. In the crawling and indexing processes, directives act as orders to guide search engine bots, like Googlebot, to the right pages.

Robots.txt is a file that contains the areas of a website that search engine robots are forbidden from crawling. It lists the URLs that the webmaster doesn’t want Google or any search engine to index and prevents them from visiting and tracking the selected pages.

A robots. txt file tells search engine crawlers which pages or files the crawler can or can't request from your site. This is used mainly to avoid overloading your site with requests; it is not a mechanism for keeping a web page out of Google.
