For SEO try to get backlinks from sites related to your site's content. Web directories, link exchanges, blogs, etc...

I think that for ecommerce site doing only SEO is not enough. Search engine traffic is not reliable (I have seen many, many sites disappearing from Google's search results for important keyword, without any reason) and it's better to have different model of bringing new customers. You can use PPC or you can make and promote your own affiliate program.

I think we might be able to help you out more if you had more information for us.

There are plenty of ways to improve, but no matter what type of clothing you are selling (or any type of business, for that matter), your business will have no choice but to excel and improve if you take into consideration the customer.

I suggest gathering as much information and feedback as possible from as many fresh contacts as possible. If you are just starting up, try compiling surveys after allowing potential customers to sample the handiwork of your product.

Other than really taking your potential userbase's suggestions into deep consideration, another necessity is to take your marketing campaign into your own hands as much as you have time for.

Traditional advertising will certainly help and I applaud anyone who wisely invests in such, but it still stands true that genuine word-of-mouth beats any paid ad any day, gram versus gram.

One way to do such would be to target local and online communities with contests for your product as prize.

A savvy businessperson can even arrange to resell some ad revenue from the interest generated from such a thing.

There are also plenty of other great and honest ways of effectively routing customers to you for the long run, it all depends on how creative you want to get and how much effort you want to put in.
