    I think ranking in SERPs is more important than PR.

    Most of my sites went up:

    khaosanroad.com 4>5
    ieltstips.com 0>3
    tefltrainingworld.com 0>2

    So, there was most definitely an update!

    Google will continue with PR update giving value of the pages but site ranking in search results will be always top concern.

    Sites' positions in search results are determined based on a number of factors designed to provide end-users with helpful, accurate search results.
    In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages.

    Well thanks for your replies. Now could you please let me know which SEO firm is good to hire for SEO work?

    There are many, I think while hiring a SEO firm you should ask few important questions and check their response;

    Here are the guideline from Google;

    * Can you show me examples of your previous work and share some success stories?
    * Do you follow the Google Webmaster Guidelines?
    * Do you offer any online marketing services or advice to complement your organic search business?
    * What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe? How do you measure your success?
    * What's your experience in my industry?
    * What's your experience in my country/city?
    * What's your experience developing international sites?
    * What are your most important SEO techniques?
    * How long have you been in business?
    * How can I expect to communicate with you? Will you share with me all the changes you make to my site, and provide detailed information about your recommendations and the reasoning behind them?
