It matters to some extent. However, after the EMD update its importance has gone down.

Your domain name is your business card - its SEO importance might be miniscule, but it matters greatly for your customers When you choose it, always think first of the relevance to your business, as well as trying to keep it short and catchy.

Regarding SEO specifically, I can always recommend getting additional domains with the same name but different extensions, like .net, .org, .biz and link them altogether to open the same website. As little influence as it may have on search engines, this will give you much more credibility and increase your online presense, which is never a bad thing

Truly. Domain name matters a lot. It doesn't matter to those who are good in SEO. You must have seen a lot of people, they have very odd domain names but there website are well ranked. Reason is that they are so good in SEO. People like me aren't good in SEO due to this domain name matter alot. You should try to use anyone keyword in your domain name.

For Example : 1 - If your site is related to SEO, then " SEO " should be in the domain name.
2 - If your site is related to SMS, then " SMS " should be in the domain name
3 - If your site is related to mix things, then " Fun " will do in domain name.

Domain names always help to get good rank.

    - Thanks
