SEO and PPC are two different ways of promoting a website . in seo as we know we list our website in various search engines and we look after the site ranking in the search engine, by maintaining our site by looks , info, content, performance etc. and other things like submitting links of our site to other related sites. but in PPC which is called pay per click we pay for the as many as clicks, our site viewers click the site, and we pay for the ads we made in other sites, this is also a way of promoting the site, other ways are blogging , writing article about our site, joining forums, etc.

PPC is good for instant results and SEO is a long term process. Both activities have their own significance and value, PPC campaign needs money for the process and SEO is an organic term it doesn't need money but the ability to work.

Both has got its on importance...if you have a large website with more than 250 webpages, your priority has to be SEO and if you have a small website then definitely PPC takes precedence. Again if you are looking to target a niche or promoting a seasonal product then PPC deliver better result. Simple words it depends upon your business objective.....

Search engine optimization ensures that you and your company are found globally or regionally by those who require exactly what you offer. SEO has many benefits for any organization which wants to reach all potential customers locally or globally. Optimized websites are the fastest, easiest way to dissolve your competition. Search engine optimization campaign can increase the number of visitors for your website for the targeted keyword(s) or phrase.

PPC is an Internet marketing formula used to price online advertisements. PPC stands for pay per click. PPC programs the online advertisers will pay Internet Publishers the agreed upon PPC rate when an ad is click on, regardless if a sale is made or not. Pay per click in search engine advertising, the advertiser would typically bid on a keyword so the PPC rate changes.

If your industry is very competitive and you want quick results then it is suggested to use PPC. Otherwise organic SEO takes time and but its results are always long term.

obviously SEO is much better then PPC, In SEO If you ranked you don't have to pay for your further visitors and buyers while in PPC you have to pay for each click on your website which is not very good ..
