The most essential part of any web hosting account is the Control Panel. The most widely used control panel is cPanel, Parallels Plesk, and Direct Admin. WHM is a feature which comes with cPanel and it allows root access to the back end of cPanel. cPanel is a program which runs on Linux based web hosting server. cPanel is built with WHM which managed hosting and reseller part and without WHM; the functions provided by cPanel would not be utilized fully.

Web Host Manager, or WHM, is a powerful program that allows administrative access to the back end of cPanel. There are two versions that Host Gator uses. Reseller accounts get basic WHM.
