Keyword density is the measure of the number of times a keyword is used in a particular content. It should be kept in between 2 to 3 percent to get maximum benefit from search engines.

Use the keyword density checker online tools ( ex http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/) to check the percentage of the keywords used in the webpage.Normally it should be below 2-4%. Also for a webpage a single keyword can be used around 3-5 times based upon the content. It shouldn't be stuffed.

Keyword density is the term used to define the ratio of a particular keyword or keyword phrase’s appearance on a webpage, to the total number of words on that page. After the recent Panda Update, Keyword density is not that important. Your content should be informative and unique.

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

Keyword density is that search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly.
