What makes a server load websites faster?

    Hi,

I am a webdeveloper who has recently deployed a large eCommerce website. The server we have is of a fairly high spec :

    CPU : Intel Xeon E3-1240
    3.3GHz Quad-Core,
    8 Threads & 8MB Cache

    Ram : 8GB DDR3 1333MHz

    100Mbit connection

The website is built in asp.net and uses SQL Server Express

What we are finding is that locally our page load times are half a second but on the server it is 4 - 5 seconds. I'm struggling to get an answer from the hosting company as to what we can do to improve this (website is optimised as much as possible).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

I use hostwinds.com and their litespeed ssd web hosting services. Litespeed server is over 6x times faster than Apache.
Then, they transferred files over and make the usual adjustments in website control panel. Installed components worked out of the box.

First you have to check your website data if any extra images, slider and any other data is available in your site you have to remove it. Keep only that data which one are useful to your site. secondly install catch memory plugin. Still having loading problem then contact to your hosting company.

    Improve your hosting plan
    Understand HTTP requests
    Make images internet-friendly
Use plugins sparingly (WP sites only)
    Cut down on external scripts
    Optimize JS and CSS files
    Take advantage of caching
    Eliminate website baggage
Use a content delivery network (CDN)
