Theoretically, at least, there is no difference between .net and .com, they are both domain extension.
The legend says (and maybe all IM or related forums) that .com is easyer to rank, no one can be 100% sure. The only option is to try it and se what happens for you.

Each of .com, .net, and .organization is what's known as a Top Level Domain, or TLD. Domains finishing with .COM are by and large expected to be utilized for business organizations, which is the reason they're the most generally observed spaces in the United States. Domains finishing with .NET are normally proposed for systems administration administrations and web access suppliers.

.COM - It represent commercial or business websites. This is the most popular extension.
.NET - Network organization. it is also used by companies, internet services provider or organization that related to the internet fields.
If you want use domain, I recommend .com extension. It is the best domain extension.

Originally it was expected that commercial businesses would use the .COM extension and network-related businesses like internet and email providers would use .NET. However the com vs net distinction has blurred overtime. So it doesn't really matter which one you use as both are considered to be a Top Level Domain.

The “com” in the .com domain name indicates a “commercial” site. This can cover business websites, websites that want to make money online, personal websites, blogs, portfolios, and more. On the other hand, the “net” in the . net domain name extension stands for “network”.

    .COM
A .com area extension is hands-down the maximum popular TLD available. it changed into originally used to designate for-earnings groups, however, has now ended up the pass-to for domain extensions. When deciding on a site extension, you must almost continually choose .com — if it’s available.

In truth, if there's a .com on your domain that you don’t personalize, there is a great danger site visitors are by a chance touchdown on that area rather than yours truly because of human blunders. a few hackers are even purchasing the .com and other misspelled domain names of your commercial enterprise for fraudulent scams on your customers — known as typosquatting.

The best part about selecting a .com on your new website is that you cannot have the option as it’s already taken. The upward thrust of the internet delivered a gold-rush sort of motion with domain names. Many entrepreneurs bought famous domains and finally flipped them for extra money — every so often millions of bucks.
