In simple terms it is nothing but the fluctuations in your rankings on SERPS. This happens mostly if your site is new or during algorithm update.

Most of my fellow Quorans have answered that it’s term used to define to change in ranks of the website between MAJOR updates. However, I differ , Flux refers to the redistribution of websites rankings in search engine that occurs before search engines update their databases.

So, essentially it’s unrelated to MAJOR updates but refers to regular updates of ranking by search engines.

Flux is just a change in the SERP position of websites for keyword search. It is because of some changes in the Google algorithm or any major changes in your website, check your website first that is there any changes happened or is there any issue with your website.

Flux in SEO refers to the natural changes in search engine rankings that happen over time. It’s normal for a website's position to move up or down slightly in search results due to factors like algorithm updates, new content from competitors, or changes in user behavior. Small fluctuations are common and not always a cause for concern. However, if there’s a big drop or consistent decline, it might signal an issue like poor-quality content, outdated strategies, or penalties. To manage flux, focus on creating high-quality content, building strong backlinks, and staying updated with SEO trends and best practices.
