SEO will be the same for Joomla sites or will be there any difference?
I personally can see no difference with regard to the 'preference' of one CMS over another. In the realm of self-hosted sites, WordPress accounts for 18.9% of all websites.
There is no difference in off-page activities for joomla site, but for on-page, you have to be careful.
Earlier our website (https://www.indusuno.com) was build with Joomla and we have faced canonical issue on it as (may be) our developer was not well experienced to implement the canonical tag through code, but we did lots of research and found some great tipcs which are given below...
1. Choose the right server to host your website
2. rename htacces.txt o .htacces, this is very important to fix the canonical issue
3. Enable Search Engine Friendly URLs and URL Rewriting (So that you can set your desired urls)
4. Remove "/images/" from your Robots.txt file - This will enable you to crawl your images
5. Install JCE Editor - Very useful to manage content & media & Meta tags
6. Choose www. or non-www. and Redirect through .htaccess file
7. Perform good internal linking
8. Most important part of analyze your website speed and optimize the site's loading time.
9. Optimize images
10. Install Xmap to manage your website xml sitemap effectively.
Thats it.
Joomla can be an absolute nightmare to perform proper on-site optimization on if you’re a newbie. Joomla contains basic SEO-optimization functionality. You can turn on SEF URLs, take it a step further by enabling URL rewriting and also choose whether you would like to enable URL suffixes or not. joomla is better than wordpres regarding CMS.
