These attributues which are added to link. A do follow link will be indexed by search engine crawlers and will help your rankings whereas no follow links are not given value for rankings.

Both Do Follow and No Follow links are crawled by search engine spiders. The big difference is that No Follow links are not indexed. Hence no effect in SERPs. But this doesn't mean they are entirely useless to Internet Marketing as a whole.

dofollow links is where the links that you build able to crawl by Google and nofollow links is where the links you build cannot be crawl by google.
If you focus on SEO , do focus on dofollow links only because it give more weight in SEO. No follow links usually use by lot of admin that do not want their site get influence by poor links on their sites so theyset their comment, post , all to no follow links.

The difference is that a nofollow link doesn't pass any pagerank to the page the link is pointing to. A dofollow DOES pass pagerank.
