When a customer orders .com.au, a valid ABN or ACN confirms part of the eligibility but doesn't by itself prove the requested name meets the allocation rules.

auDA has approved in principle narrowing those rules by removing goods, services, events, activities or premises as allocation bases. That change is not live yet.
