InternetNZ is proposing a Protective Hold for some new .nz registrations that need additional validation.

The domain could remain outside DNS while DNC checks the holder information. The draft says successful checks should be cleared as soon as practical, but it doesn’t give a maximum time.

For providers, would you treat that as pending registration, active-but-held, or something else in the customer panel?
