How do you measure the success of an SEO campaign?

A number of factors influence the success or failure of an SEO campaign, but business results, or increased conversions, is the bottom line. Factors like, impressions in search results, keyword ranking, and overall traffic should all contribute to more website visitors that convert.

I came across this older discussion and wanted to add that I’ve been looking more at engagement metrics lately, like time on page and repeat visits, to understand if the traffic I’m getting is actually interested. Has anyone here seen a strong link between engagement and later conversions?

I usually keep my eye on whether the extra impressions and rankings actually turn into people taking action on the site, since those numbers alone can feel like fool’s gold. Playing around with ideas from Law Firm SEO by Gerrid Smith helped me think more about tying traffic to real conversions instead of chasing vanity stats, and that shift made things a lot clearer for me.

Saw this old thread and couldn’t resist adding something. Lately I’ve been putting more weight on tracking which pages drive the highest-quality leads, not just more leads. Has anyone here tried comparing assisted conversions from organic search with direct last-click conversions? I’ve found it gives a clearer picture of whether the SEO work is attracting the right visitors.

I usually just track whether more of my visitors actually do something meaningful on the site, like filling a form or buying. Traffic and rankings are nice, but conversions tell me if things are moving in the right direction. I’ve also started checking how often my brand shows up in AI answers, and using https://lavio.ai/ helped me spot gaps I didn’t see in normal SEO reports.

You can measure the seo campaign success by search engine rankings & traffic on your website. Also your website quality score will also increased.
