Best Forum Software With Low Server Requirements?

Hi, I don't have a big budget for hosting right now.
Is there any forum software that works well with low RAM and limited disk space?
I'm just starting out and expect slow growth at first.
Can I rely on hostingsource.com dedicated hosting solutions? What specs should I look for?

Definitely know that truth comes out of a comparison. Also choose time-tested and trusted host - keep in mind these few guidelines and you'll turn your project into success.

You can try the following software to host for you forum. Flarum is a very light weight software focused on speed and simplicity. Additionally there other software like PunBB designed to be fast, small, and light weight.

I'd draw your attention to servers from time-tested companies: legionbox.com and planethoster.com.
Their servers are speed-optimized, webpages load quickly. They guarantee low latency and high availability for their users by placing their data centers strategically throughout the world.

If you’re starting small with limited RAM and disk, go with lightweight forum software. Options like PunBB or FUDforum are known for being simple and fast, and they don’t need many server resources to run.

For specs, even something like 1–2 GB RAM, a small NVMe/SSD (20–40 GB), and a basic CPU core is usually enough for a new forum with low traffic. The key is picking software that stays lightweight and scaling later as your community grows.

As for the host you mentioned, the safest approach is to check real uptime, support responsiveness, and refund policy before committing long term. Starting with a smaller plan and upgrading later is usually the least risky way.

Use servers from hostingsource.com (50% off first month on dedi coupon code: 50%Discount) with no hesitation.
I am very pleased with the stability of the stack, the technical support I have received, the responsiveness of that support (and the multiple options to get support) and the value received for what I have paid.
