VPS cheap vs. reliable - where's the line?

[tomamber51]

I keep going back and forth between budget VPS providers and pricier ones. hostpro.com sits somewhere in the middle for me - is it actually reliable, or am I paying for marketing? What matters most to me is daily backups and DDoS protection, not raw specs.

Yeah, a lot of cheap machines look good in terms of specs, but I'm afraid it's just a marketing gimmick.
Daily backups and DDoS protection are really important to me too.
Since I'm not very technical, I can only learn from everyone's experience here.

Instead of paying high fixed monthly fees, I rent high-performance servers by the hour through voyar.net.

It easily meets all my needs in terms of both performance and system resources, and since I only pay for the time I use it, it's quite affordable. Establishing this price/performance balance has been a much more logical solution for me.
