Redirects are used transfer our website to another domain or transfer a page to another new page. Suppose i have a old website and i recently bought a new domain and now i want to shift that old website to new domain then i have to used redirects which will transfer all traffic and page value to the new website. Generally we 301 or 302 redirects for that purposes and there more redirects available on the internet.

When a request for a page or URL is made by a browser, agent or spider, the web server where the page is hosted checks a file called '.htaccess'. This file contains instructions on how to handle specific requests and also plays a key role in security.
