Browser is the application you use to search while default search engine is the search engine that is used by the browser to search when you search at the browser's search bar. Example of browsers are firefox , chrome, and internet explorer. You can set the default search engine in your browser's options. Examples of search engines that you can set as default is google, yahoo, and bing.

Browser has not different search engine, but use the original search engine by the mean of some applications.
