Hourly VPS/Cloud Server Experiences and Cost Advantages

    Greetings everyone,

I've been using VPSs with fixed monthly fees for my projects for a long time, but recently I switched to a pay-as-you-go model for testing and short-term workloads.

I've been setting up and testing hourly servers through voyar.net for a while now. I'm quite satisfied with the performance and system stability; it offers more than enough infrastructure for all kinds of workloads. Moreover, since I can shut down the server when I don't need it and only pay for the hours I use it, it has significantly reduced costs.

My question is: are there any of you who actively use this hourly cloud/VPS rental method in your projects? How do you approach balancing budget and performance? I'm curious to hear your experiences.

Yes, hourly billing works well for testing and short jobs. You only pay when the server is on, so it is much cheaper than a monthly plan you hardly use.

Here’s how to balance cost and performance:

Use hourly servers for testing, builds, and short projects.

Keep a monthly plan for anything that must run all the time, because it is usually cheaper for 24/7 use.

Delete servers you no longer need, since some hosts still charge for storage and IPs on a stopped server.

Save a snapshot before deleting, so you can bring the setup back quickly.
