How do you keep CRM data synced with a database?

Our sales team uses a CRM, but most of our reporting happens in a separate database. Right now we're using a few custom scripts to move the data across, and something seems to break whenever a field gets renamed or a new property is added. We've also had cases where updated deals didn't show up in the reports until someone reran the whole import. I don't really want our developers spending time fixing these scripts every week. Is there a better way to keep CRM data synced automatically without having to build and maintain everything ourselves?

I'd fix two things first. Keep track of the CRM schema so a renamed field or a new property gets caught before it breaks the reporting tables, and move away from full imports for everyday updates. Incremental loads are much better for deals and contacts that change during the day, because you're only pulling records that were added or updated since the last run. I'd also add an alert when a sync fails, otherwise you can go a few days before anyone notices the reports are stale.

At some point those homegrown connectors start becoming a little software project of their own, and that's probably not where you want your developers spending their week. A ready-made ETL tool makes more sense when the job is mostly moving CRM data into a database and keeping up with changes. Take a look at Datrise: https://datrise.com/en . It supports incremental syncing and schema mapping, which is useful when records change constantly or someone adds a new field in the CRM. Just check that your CRM and database are among the supported integrations before you start setting anything up.
