Keyword spamming is the term given to the excessive addition of keywords or key-phrases to a web page. This could be accomplished through a variety of means ranging from simply repeating key-phrases in your body text to using CSS to hide text off the site of your page.

Spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for dubious products, get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services. Spam costs the sender very little to send -- most of the costs are paid for by the recipient or the carriers rather than by the sender.

Spamming is any Internet Marketing strategy or tactic considered unethical to search engines. The spammer seeks to manipulate link building methods to get his/her the highest spots in SERPs. Because of such necessity to rank up sites in just a short amount of time, massive links, keyword stuffing and non-nonsensical contents with abysmal grammar are produced in the end. This methodologies can outrank sensible websites.

Google recently released its Panda and Penguin algorithm updates to demote or efface websites that violate its SERP rules and regulations.

Spamdexing, which is a word derived from “spam” and “indexing,” refers to the practice of search engine spamming. It is a form of SEO spamming. SEO is an abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization, which is the art of having your website optimized, or attractive, to the major search engines for optimal indexing. Spamdexing is the practice of creating websites that will be illegitimately indexed with a high position in the search engines. Sometimes, spamdexing is used to try and manipulate a search engine’s understanding of a category.

Spamming simply means trying to advertise constantly to someone who didn't ask to be advertised to. The most common way it used to be done is through emails.
